Navigating the complex world of sustainability compliance can be daunting. Our approach to compliance is proactive and comprehensive. We don’t just help you meet the minimum requirements; we aim to position your organisation as a leader in regulatory excellence. With Arete Zero Carbon, you can rest assured that your compliance strategy is robust, resilient, and reflective of your commitment to sustainability.

Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)

Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive enhances sustainability transparency. Reporting requirements apply to EU and non-EU undertakings with significant EU activity. Our service integrates a double materiality assessment, carbon accounting, climate-related risks and opportunities strategy, and a comprehensive, compliant CSRD report.

IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards

International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Sustainability Disclosure Standards provide a global baseline for sustainability-related financial disclosures. The creation of the IFRS involved the consolidation of the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC). Since the launch, the Taskforce on Climate-related Disclosures (TCFD) has disbanded and the Transition Plan Taskforce (TPT) has transferred monitoring to the IFRS.

Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)

The EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) aims to prevent carbon leakage and boost sustainability by pricing carbon emissions in imported goods. If you import cement, aluminium, iron, steel, fertilisers, electricity, or hydrogen, CBAM may affect your organisation. The CBAM transitions from a monitoring phase (until December 2025) to full implementation (starting January 2026).

Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 06/21

PPN06/21 aligns with the UK’s net-zero vision. Suppliers bidding for major government contracts, companies with contracts over £5m, and NHS suppliers over £10k must provide a carbon reduction plan. Our approach includes baseline assessment, reduction opportunities, and a company-branded carbon reduction plan.

Streamlined Energy Carbon Reporting (SECR)

Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting was introduced in April 2019, mandating energy use and carbon emissions disclosure for large UK companies. Our service includes energy usage analysis, historical data insights, intensity ratios, and energy efficiency measures.

Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) mandates climate-related disclosures aligned with TCFD recommendations for various entities. The UK aims to make TCFD-aligned disclosures mandatory across the entire economy by 2025. Our TCFD service integrates materiality assessment, carbon accounting, climate-related risk strategy, and compliant reporting.
